Were Home
Scarlett was finally released from the hospital Sunday afternoon and Nick brought us home. She is doing much better and almost seems back to herself. She is smiling and reaching for everything and playing just fine. I dont think Ive ever felt so lucky to see her up and going like I do today.
The rest of our time in the hospital was more or less a rollercoaster. Her fever would peak, she would look horrible, the nurses were great but constantly waking her up and chking on her. Her fever was high on Thursday, Friday off and on but never lower than 99* and by Saturday it was nearly gone. She hadnt eaten, nursed, at ALL since Tuesday so I pumped most of the days and have a nice large supply of milk now. She finally started nursing Friday at 5:30pm and from there it was every couple hours more and more until she was back to her normal amount. The doctors were not going to release her until she had nursed and had no fever for 24 hours so her last fever was Friday night at 1:30 in the morning and we left Sunday afternoon. What a horrible time it was but we're very blessed to have good doctors, nurses and modern medicine. Thank God for keeping my baby safe.
