9 Months Old!

Unfortunately, we spent Scarlett turning 9 months old with her being very sick and in the hospital so there wasnt much time to write about this incredible stage she is in. We had a doctors appointment at her 8 month mark so I was very aware of where she was developmentally because I talked with the doctor about it, and she changed SO much in that next month she was a completely different kid.
A couple changes:
- She's eating much more food besides breast milk. She was eating solids only twice a day and only a couple teaspoons at a time, the doctor  was concerned with her iron intake so we upped it to three times a day. She started eating more than half a jar of baby food at a time, oatmeal, puffs, cheerios, and some (but very limited) cut up fruit.
-She started practicing drinking water from a cup. It started with her letting water drip into her mouth and then dribble out, but now shes swallowing most of it. Were going to keep practicing.
- I cut down her nursing to 6 times a day. After breakfast, before nap, after lunch, before nap, after dinner, before bed. I needed her to learn that nursing was when it fell into the routine and that it is for daytime.. NOT night time haha.
-She started sleeping in her crib in her own room. We started slowly transitioning her with laying her down and patting her back, letting her "cry" (more just hum) for a minute and responding again. She very quickly (and much more quickly than I had anticipated) learned to go to sleep on her own. She chews on her blanket and does her weird humping motion (HAHA, I just dont know what else to call it... My mom says inch worm... so I guess Ill go with that) and goes right to sleep. Her naps almost immediately improved and she was even feeling better in the daytime with better sleep.
-She went from about 10... yes, 10, ugh!... wake-ups at night to 2-3. It went back up in the hospital with all the noise and wake ups for vitals, and it took a week after we got home to readjust but shes doing great again. Its so much better for the whole family.
-She goes from sitting in to the crawling position and can rock back and forth but when she tries to go forward she belly flops. She still hasnt figured it out, and I felt like the week in the hospital set her back a little bit but shes back to where she was. Im excited for her to learn. She will definitely like being mobile.
-She had been pulling herself up to standing on my legs or with my fingers but she started doing it on the coffee table and anything else that she can reach. She loves to stand there and pull everything off the table.
-Also, she started cruising along the table. Its very slow moving but it is still something. I put her down one day, turned around to finish doing my hair, and when I turned back to see her she was in a new place. It was CRAZY! to see her do that. How fun!
-She loves to talk and her very favorite thing to say is "mmm BA". She says it to Nick constantly and he loves it. When he comes home from work he will walk in and immediately say it, she smiles and reaches for him and says it back. Its wonderful!
-She started trying to put things into our mouths and feed us. Its really sweet. She also tries to hand me a toy and then immediately takes it back :-)

I suppose that covers it. She is such an amazing little girl and she is getting more and more personality by the minute. We are so excited to see how she grows and who she grows up to be.
