Great Weekend!

We had a GREAT family weekend. It was absolutely wonderful!

We did find out, however, Saturday morning that we did not get the house we bid on. I was very disappointed and so was Nick, but were starting to recover and look forward to finding that perfect house for us.

Friday night we went to Bret and Junes. We bought pizza and played with the babies and after the babies went to bed we begun a very competitive game of Bezzerwizzer. Nick is SO good at trivia, and me... not so much. But June and I beat the boys twice last weekend so they wanted to have another go. They beat us both times, but the games were close and we had a great time. I even impressed Nick with some of my trivia knowledge and... thats hard to do :-)

Saturday morning I had my class that was full and Scarlett was great with Nick. I came home to a happy baby and a happy husband. June and I took John and Scarlett swimming for the first time at the college swimming pool that afternoon. It was a bit colder than I exected but still very fun. John started out having a great time splashing and smiling, and Scarlett was cold and clung very tightly to me but as time went on Scarlett was loving it and John became quieter. Its so funny to see the babies different personalities! They both had a good time though, and we will be back very soon. I will be putting her in swimming lessons as soon as possible. My little girls LOVES water.

Saturday night Beth had offered to babysit so Nick and I could have a little date night. We invited Bret and June so they picked us up around 7 after Scarlett went to bed. We went to Locomotions for dinner and drinks, then the American, and back to Loco's. It was a FANTASTIC time. We drank, danced, and laughed... I met a few people they all went to high school with and even one of Nicks ex girlfriends Haha. It was so fun to be out with my husband, enjoying his company. It felt like we were back dating. I love him so much. Scarlett did great and slept the entire time until we got home around 11:30. What a joy!

Sunday morning we went to Ames for the "all you can eat" breakfast at the fire house with Beth, Peter, and Matty. The line was literally hours long so we went to the Black Cat and instead had a mediocre, expensive breakfast HAHA lesson learned (Show up early, or dont go at all). We talked about our plans for a new house and what building one would entail. Scarlett had a great time and I found us all just watching her half the time. She did get a hold of Beths water and spilled it everywhere... she reaches so much further than I expect her too sometimes. Again, lesson learned.

Sunday afternoon we went out on Spruce Lake and rode Bbq'd, rode sno mobiles, and 4 wheelers. There was a figure 8 track and drag strips. We had two baby sleds and we pulled the babies around. This was a weird winter and there wasnt much time to play in the snow but it was a great day. Nick was about as happy of a man as you could ever see.

Monday morning was back to the grind but it felt nice to have such a good weekend. This is what life is all about.
