I cant believe Im about to say this...

Scarlett is 7 MONTHS OLD!

During our Christmas with the Chichester side of the family there was a 1 week old baby that Nicks cousin had just given birth to and I felt when I was holding her it was hard to even remember Scarlett being that tiny and fragile. I cant believe how time flies!

It is absolutely true when they say giving birth to a baby makes you feel a love you have never felt, nor can put in to words. It is also true when parents say their love for their baby grows each and every day. Scarlett is such a joy and its not near as sad as I thought it was going to be to watch her grow, because its jus too much dang fun!

Scarlett is sitting up now. It changed so much of our days I feel like because she can entertain herself so much longer, and she plays so differently. She had previously loved small chew toys that she could hold and lay down and chew on but now that she sits up she is starting to love books and larger toys to push and pull and figure out. She started sitting for short amounts of time 10-15 seconds and it grew until she figured it out and now she is just fine on her own. In fact, just a day ago she started really catching herself if she started tipping like a kick stand and if she falls back she will make a face like she knows whats coming and since usually she falls onto a pillow she will land and hold her head up until she realizes its soft and she will finally lay back. Its adorable.

She is getting basically all of her food by nursing but she likes to chew on all sorts of things. She is DEFINTELY interested when someone is eating and wants to try it. The other day I let her try a potato that I had made for dinner and when I took it from her she started screaming. Im introducing her to foods pretty slowly and letting her set the pace and it seems to be working out for us pretty great. Nick gets grossed out with the mess she makes, but knowing Nick that comes as no surprise.

Scarlett is sleeping okay and about the same as she has been in the last few months. She wakes up a few times to nurse and goes right back to sleep. The time she wakes up varies so much. Some days she will sleep until 7am and some days shes up with Nicks alarm at 4:45. Naps also vary from 40  minutes to 2 1/2 hours.

She loves clapping her hands, loves clapping her feet and sometimes claps one hand and one foot. She laughs at the dogs playing, barking, and LOVES when Jasper playes fetch. She still doesnt roll form her tummy to her back although she is most definetly strong enough. I love that shes starting to make more faces and smiling with her jaw closed, its almost a glimpse into what her real smile is going to look like! Sometimes when she is mad or very tired she will throw her head back in protest and its so funny but oh man, I know whats coming my way.

Scarlett, I cant believe how much fun it is to watch you grow. I cant wait until what you will be doing tomorrow. Youre incredible and loved so very much. Happy 7 months old baby girl.
