I am a...

breast feeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering, mother who firmly believes when it comes to being a mother you must follow your instincts and do whatever feels right for you and your family. Im not sure why, sometimes I feel the things I love about the way I parent feel so radical to others, when it feels so natural to me. But, I must stay the course and continue to pray for guidance. Ive been feeling down lately and trying to find balance. Like my mother said, "My advice to you, is to not listen to any one elses advice".

I had a wonderful "family day" with Nick, and Scarlett. We took a nap together, watched a good movie and took a trip to WalMart. I bought a pump to start building a little supply for when the time comes to go on a date with Nick or maybe have Kelsey watch Scarlett while Im celebrating Katie Hurleys wedding day with her. The thing I did not expect about parenting was the intense attachment I feel to my child, its a little nerve wrecking to start thinking about leaving her (even if it is for a very short amount of time) Anyway, the day ended with a Chichester campfire out in the woods. It was nice to chat with Jackie and get a little confirmation about some things I already knew. Shes awesome! Scarlett was a little cranky, but we made it through just fine. She loves to stare at the campfire, and I love that she is getting to spend so much time outdoors.

Scoharie county is still under a lot of water and mud. Hurricane Irene hit hard here. I wish I could help some more but with Scarlett its hard to put work boots on and go scoop mud. We did bake some cookies for the people evacuated but Im not feeling like its enough. Praying for some more oppurtunities to serve.

Im reading "The Help" and really enjoying it so far. So time to go read some more... its been a good day.

Our photo shoot as a bear wasnt all that successful because she really didnt appreciate the outfit being on, or her mother trying to pose her... haha but a few cute pictures came of it. :-)
